Program Description:

Leadership — like photography — is an art form. The similarities are striking; leaders and great photographers need to be self-aware (selfies), to view the world through different lenses, to focus on both the big picture and the details, to pay attention to the people around them, and to tell stories. There’s a reason the adage “A picture is worth a thousand words” survives. Photographers are, at their best, storytellers. Strong leaders are also storytellers, knowing that their ability to shape stories (visual, written and told) is crucial to engaging followers and accomplishing their mission. In this workshop we will use the metaphor of photography, with our own experiences of taking photos (phone photos count!), to look at the art of personal leadership through the lens of photography.

Program Objectives:

1. Frame leadership as a dynamic and creative practice.

2. Uncover new insights and perspectives into your own personal leadership style.

3. Focus on ways of promoting the art of personal leadership within your organization.
